Five routes, stop by stop
Every place is a centre, and every place leads somewhere else. These five routes are ways to thread Nantou together.
The Dong Ding Line
The home of competition tea, and the place where Sun Moon Lake’s water becomes light. Both stops come with a cup of Dong Ding oolong.
The Jiji Line
A railway laid in 1922 for the hydropower project, running from Zhuoshui Station in Mingjian through Jiji to Shuili.
Water of Sun Moon Lake
Black tea grows by the lake, and the lake’s water runs through the mountain to turn the generators in Shuili.
The Blossom Line
From the longan blossoms of Zhongliao and Guoxing to Puli, where the roses came from. Blossoms all the way, and two cups of scented tea.
The High Mountain Line
Wuling, the highest point on Taiwan’s roads, and Tataka at the gateway to Yushan. Both stops come with a cup of high mountain oolong grown in the mist.
